Whimsy Stamps 24 Days of Christmas Event - Final Day

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!! Today I am sharing my card for the final day of the Whimsy Stamps 24 Days of Christmas Event.

For those of you who don't know, the Whimsy Stamps design team have been holding a fun event on the Whimsy blog in the run up to Christmas. Each day from the 1st to the 24th of December, a member of the design team has shared a brand new Whimsy holiday creation and today's it's my turn to share the very last day's creation!

For my card I inked up the adorable Snowflake Bauble rubber stamp illustrated by Jo Davies of Time For Tea Designs for Whimsy Stamps. My sentiment is from the Holiday Sliders 3 stamp set and I cut it out using the coordinating Slider 3 die. I also used the fabulous Tall Timber die, the Rocking Horse die and one of the dies from the Ornaments die set as embellishments:

Supplies
Whimsy Stamps rubber stamps: Snowflake Bauble and Holiday Sliders 3 set
Whimsy Stamps Shapeology dies: Tall Timber and Rocking Horse and Slider 3 and Ornaments set
Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Copic markers
Bazzill Cardstock
Echo Park 6x6 paper pad: Tis The Season
Baker's Twine, May Arts 3/4" Twill/Chevron Stripes Ribbon, 4mm black half pearls

Each day during the event we are posting a letter, and you can find today's letter on the Whimsy blog. Once you've collected all 24 letters, you should be able to unscramble them to make a 4 word phrase. Email the phrase to whimsystampscontests@gmail.com by 31st December 2013, and if you've guessed correctly, you will be entered into the draw to win a fantastic GRAND PRIZE!

We are also running some fun SPOT PRIZES throughout the entire event. The prizes could be hidden here on any of the December Whimsy blog posts or on ANY of the daily DT member's blog posts, so be sure to leave a comment here on on my blog as well as one on my post on the Whimsy blog to be in with a chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

GIC26: Pink with a pattern

Hi everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at the Graph'it Markers blog and it's the turn of Team B to provide you with some Graph'it inspiration! Our challenge this week is PINK WITH A PATTERN

I decided to use this really cute Sew and Sew digital stamp, illustrated by Emma Canning for Polkadoodles:

Graph'it Markers
Skin: 4180 4155 4115 4125 4120 Blush: 4135 4145
Hair: 3250 3245 3210 4110
Skirt: 8220
Pink Fabric: 5230 5130 5120 0000
Sewing Machine: 4110
Shading: 9503 9500 0000

I coloured the piece of fabric she is sewing in pink and then added a polka dot pattern using my blender pen.  I also decided to paper piece her shirt to match the background paperr.

I used the *NEW* brush nibs in three of the markes I used to colour her hair (3250 3245 3210).  Until now I have only added brush nibs to a few of the skin colours that I use, as I find I can achieve great blending using the bullet nibs and have therefore felt no need to swap all my chisel nibs to brush nibs.  However, I am really pleased with how fine I was able to make the strands of hair using the brush nibs, so I think I will invest in a few more packs and swap the chisel nib for a brush nib in the markers I like to use for different hair colours!

So now it's your turn to get creating! You have until Sunday 29th December 2013 at noon GMT to enter our Pink with a Pattern challenge. As always, there is an awesome prize up for grabs and the lucky winner of this challenge will be announced on the blog on Friday 3rd January.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Whimsy Stamps: Wee Stamps Silver Fairy

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I haven't posted in over a week. I've been flat out making samples for a Graph'it Marker show on Create Craft TV, finishing magazine commissions and trying to organise Christmas in between, lol!

So today I thought I'd share one of a set of 4 cards I made for issue 124 of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. I was asked to make 4 alternative color winter/Christmas themed cards using the Basic Grey Persimmon pad. For this one, I inked up the beautiful Whimsy Stamps Silver Fairy.

I used the Whimsy Stamps Lavish Flourishs stamps around the edge of the image panel.  The corner was cut using one of  the Whimsy Stamps Corner Dies and the holly leaves are from the Whimsy Stamps Hollys and Berries die

Thanks so much for popping by today!

Paperbabe Stamps December release - FABULOUS Everything

Hi everyone!

Welcome to our final day of Paperbabe Stamps December release sneak peeks. Today the DT are sharing cards made with the gorgeous Fabulous Everything stamp set. This is one of three stunning word art stamp sets that Kim is releasing this month. All new stamps will be available to purchase from the Paperbabe Stamps store on Friday 6th December.

Each of the December release stamp sets includes a different patterned stamp which you can use like washi tape or use to add a pattern to the main word stamp by using it as a kissing strip.  I decided to use all 3 of the patterned stamps to create a washi effect background for my card.  Originally I tried stamping the patterns onto vellum for a truly authentic washi tape look, but the ink I used smudged, so I guess I'll have to wait until I get some suitable ink before trying out that idea, lol! So I stamped directly onto the card instead:

The striped pattern stamp is from the Happy Thoughts set, the spotty pattern from the Just Because set, and the heart pattern from today's Fabulous Everything set.  Once I'd stamped my washi tape background, I stamped the decorative word outline stamp in black and then coloured it in with a black pen. The "Have A" and "Birthday Mum" stamps are actually 4 separate stamps that come with the Fabulous Everything set.  I love having separate stamps, as you can decide exactly where to put them. A few black half pearls and dew drops, and it was done!

Be sure to stop by the Paperbabe Stamps blog to take a peek at Kim's beautiful samples together with the links to Chris's gorgeous new release creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Paperbabe Stamps December release - HAPPY Birthday

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Day 2 of the Paperbabe Stamps December release sneak peeks. Today the DT are sharing cards made with the gorgeous Happy Thoughts stamp set. This is one of three stunning word art stamp sets that Kim is releasing this month. All new stamps will be available to purchase from the Paperbabe Stamps store on Friday 6th December.

The Happy Thoughts stamp set has a total of 15 top quality clear stamps. I have stamped the solid "happy" word stamp 4 times in 4 different colours, and then stamped "Birthday" in black at the bottom.  A really quick and simple CAS card, but perfect for men I think! :)

Be sure to stop by the Paperbabe Stamps blog to take a peek at today's DT samples.

Paperbabe Stamps December release - Because you INSPIRE me

Hi everyone!

It's release week at Paperbabe Stamps!! WOO-HOO!!  Today the DT are sharing cards made with the gorgeous Just Because stamp set. This is one of three stunning word art stamp sets that Kim is releasing this month. All new stamps will be available to purchase from the Paperbabe Stamps store on Friday 6th December.

The Just Because stamp set has a total of 16 top quality clear stamps. I have stamped the solid "because" word stamp in pink, then stamped the beautiful word outline (hand drawn by Kim) in black. The "You" and "INSPIRE me" are just 2 of loads of different text stamps that are included in the set, and because they were separate, it allowed me to ink the word inspire in pink! The set also includes a polka dot pattern stamp which you can use like washi tape (as I have done down the left side of my card) or to add a pattern to the main word stamp by using it as a kissing strip.

Be sure to stop by the Paperbabe Stamps blog to take a peek at today's DT samples.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

GIC20: Furry Friends

Hi everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at the Graph'it Markers blog and it's the turn of Team B to provide you with some Graph'it inspiration! Our challenge this week is FURRY FRIENDS, so we want to see creations with cute, cuddly and furry friends!

I used an older Whimsy Stamps image for my card called Elf Bell Mouse, illustrated by Meljen's Designs:

Graph'it Markers used:
Mouse Fur: 9507 9505 9503 9501 9500 (plus white opaque pen)
Cheeks: 4145 4135   Ear & Tail: 4135 4150 4125 4120
Red: 3180 5250 5220 5210 4145
Gold: 2130 1280 1230 1210

The designer paper is from my Echo Park Tis the Season 6x6 paper pad.  The wooden snowflake came from a box set I bought from The Range last year.  I painted it with Tim Holtz Picket Fence distress paint, but as I was a bit too impatient to let it dry properly, I blotted it with some kitchen paper, so it's given a kind of stained look instead! :)

So now it's your turn to get creating! You have until Sunday 17th November 2013 at noon GMT to enter our Furry Friends challenge. As always, there is an awesome prize up for grabs and the lucky winner of this challenge will be announced on the blog on Friday 22nd November.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

MFT Rock and Roll

Hi everyone!

It's no secret that I {heart} MFT products! I will even confess to having a teeny, tiny obsession, lol, so today's card is one I made with Die-namics LLD Accent It - Rock and Roll:

The stars and "you rock" sentiment are from the LLD Document It - Rock On stamp set, and I die-cut the letters for "dad" from Die-namics By the Letters.  Papers are by Echo Park and I added some glossy accents to the guitar!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Paperbabe Stamps: Happy Tree Hugs

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today I have a card to share using the fabulous Paperbabe Stamps Tree Hugs stamp set, Cumulus Background stamp and some of the cloud shapes from the SVG digital cut file that coordinates with the High in the Sky stamp set.

Supplies
Paperbabe Stamps Tree Hugs stamp set
Paperbabe Stamps Cumulus Background stamp
Paperbabe Stamps SVG digital cut files - High in the Sky
Versamagic inks: Gingerbread, Red Brick, Pumpkin Spice, Aspen Mist,

Aegean Blue, Pretty Petunia, Niagara Mist, Spanish Olive
Memento Rich Cocoa ink , E21 & E25 Copic markers
Cardstock: Bazzill Kraft; Core’dinations Colorcore Rustic AO040
Sizzix Tim Holtz Embossing Folders Bricked & Woodgrain Set
Versamark ink; White embossing powder

Most of you will know me as a stamper and colourer, but I also love to stamp with inks (even though I don't do it that often, lol!).  I use distress inks, memento inks and versamagic inks for stamping, and for this creation I mostly used my versamagic chalk inks as I love the gradated effect I can create with them.

First I created the background by inking the Cumulus Background stamp with Aspen Mist, Aegean Blue and Pretty Petunia (working from the top of the stamps to the bottom). Then I used Niagara Mist and Spanish Olive to create the grass, stamping some of the grass stamps from the Tree Hugs set to create detail. I used Pumpkin Spice, Gingerbread and Red Brick to stamp the spotty tree canopy and the coordinating shadow. The tree trunk was stamped on top with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then coloured  with E21 and E25 Copic markers.  Finally I added some SVG cut clouds and popped them and the tree up with foam pads for dimension.

The sentiment is also from the Tree Hugs stamp set. I love the sentiments that Kim includes in her sets, and especially love the way she mixes fonts!  This one is made from 2 stamps - First I stamped "Happy        Hugs" and then stamped "tree" in the space in between!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Graph'it Challenge #16: Shades of Grey & Party In Pink!

Hi everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at the Graph'it Markers blog and it's the turn of Team B (that's me, Cara and Kevin) to provide you with some Graph'it inspiration this week! Our challenge this week is SHADES OF GREY, so we want to see you colour with greys!

I used the Saturated Canary image called "Boobie Love" for my card. I was lucky enough to grab this image back in March 2012 when Krista was giving her away for free on her blog, but you can buy her HERE from the Saturated Canary store for only $0.01!

Supplies
Saturated Canary Boobie Love digital stamp
Graph'it Markers
Bazzill Watermelon Sensation cardstock
Core'dinations Color Core Stormy Grey (FB020)
Echo Park 'Be Mine' 12x12 collection: Black Damask #BM9003 (reverse) & Script Polka Dot #BM9002 (heart)
Whimsy Stamps Shapeology dies: Corner Dies; Country Heart
MFT Die-namics: By The Letters die set
Wild Orchid Crafts: 50 Mixed Pink Tone Open Roses 25mm Set A
Viva Decor Pearl Pen - 101 Ice White; Glitter; 4mm & 5mm white flatback pearls
Sewing machine & white thread

Graph'it Markers
Skin: 4180 4155 4115 4125 4120 4150
Blush: 4145 4135  Lips: 5230 5130 5125
Eyes: 7175 7170 7130 7125
Hair: 9505 9503 9501 9500
Top: 5280 5230 5130 5125 5110
Trousers: 9507 9505 9503 9501 5230 (pink stripe)
Rose: 5230 5125 5110 8290 8280

Now you may be a bit confused about the "Party in Pink" text that I've added to my card?  Well, I made this card especially for a special lady who I'm sure many of you will know - the super sweet Jacqueline Beddingfield.  Anyone who is Facebook friends with Jacque will know all about her passion for Zumba!  Jacque has been involved in a "Party in Pink" zumbathon charity event this past weekend, raising money for breast cancer.  To show my support and to say thank you to Jacque for the time and effort she so tirelessly gives to this, I wanted to make a card for her.  I coloured the image to look like Jacque and added the "Party in Pink" logo so hopefully it looks like Jacque at her Party in Pink zumbathon!! Jacque is taking donations for another week, so if you'd like to donate to this very worthy cause, click here.

LinkUpforPink.com

I would also like to enter this card into the 3rd Annual Link Up for Pink linking party. This online party is running from 1-14 October, so if you'd like join in, you still have a couple of days to create something for this worthy cause.

So now it's your turn to get creating! You have until Sunday 20th October 2013 at noon GMT to enter our Shades of Grey challenge As always, there is an awesome prize up for grabs and the lucky winner of this challenge will be announced on the blog on Friday 25th October.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

To a True Friend ...

Hi everyone! I hope you're enjoying your week?

Today I have a card to share that I made quite a few months ago but never got around to blogging! Back in October last year (2012) I got to play with the Cricut Mini for a few days (for a commission for Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine). Sadly I wasn't able to keep the machine (darn it, lol!), but this is what I came up with:

Supplies
Cricut Mini electronic cutting machine
Cricut ‘Art Nouveau’ Cartridge
Whimsy Stamps Friendship Notables 2 rubber stamp set (sentiment)
Whimsy Stamps Notables 2 die
My Mind’s Eye Indie Chic ‘Nutmeg’ 6x6 paper pad
Bazzill Bitter Chocolate cardstock
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 22 die set
Tim Holtz Distress ink pad - Vintage Photo
4mm Brown halfback pearls; Paper roses; Brown organza ribbon
Die-cutting machine

I cut the swan (at 2.5") with the 'Art Nouveau' cartridge (I'm not sure if that particular cartridge comes with the machine when you buy it, or if it was an 'extra' I was given to play with!).  I used papers from MME Indie Chic Nutmeg 6x6 pad and gave everything a good old distressing with TH Vintage Photo ink!  I was quite pleased with the result, bearing in mind there's no colouring to be seen, lol!

Thanks for popping by today!

I'll be back tomorrow with my new Graph'it Markers challenge card, so I do hope you'll stop by again then as it's a card with a special message! :)

Big hugs,

Circle of Friends blog hop for Bev!

Hi everyone and welcome to our
Circle of Friends blog hop
especially for our dear DT member and friend
Bev Rochester

Unfortunately, Bev has had to take a little break from crafting over the past few months due to ill health. We are missing her here at Whimsy and want to let her know that we are thinking about her and wishing her a speedy recovery.

Even though the Whimsy family is scattered all around the world, we have come together as a circle of friends to show Bev our love and support by each making her a card.

Although this hop is for Bev, we do hope you will hop along with us to support our wonderful teammate and friend. If you arrived here from the Whimsy Stamps blog, then you are in the right place! If you’ve happened upon this post by chance and would like to hop with us, hop on over to the Whimsy Stamps blog to begin the hop.

For my card, I decided to ink up one of our newest release stamps, September Rose, illustrated by Elisabeth Bell.  The sentiment on the tag is a combination of 2 different sentiments from the Handmade Letter Seals stamp set and reads "just to lift your spirits because you're special" which was just what I wanted to say:

Supplies
Whimsy Stamps September Rose rubber stamp (image)
Whimsy Stamps Handmade Letter Seals rubber stampe set (sentiment)
Whimsy Stamps Shapeology dies: Country Heart; Picket Fence; Double Scallop Tag; Leaf Trio set

World Card Making Day 2013 - Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop!

Happy World Card Making Day 2013!

World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to ... celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family, AND to kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season!

Today, Whimsy Stamps is celebrating World Card Making Day 2013 with our very own BLOG HOP!

The hop starts today at 9.00AM (EST) and ends on Monday 7th October 2013 at 12.00PM (EST).

We've hidden a fantastic rubber stamp prize pack somewhere along the hop, so be sure to complete the hop and leave comments on all the DT's hop posts to enter! We will announce the lucky winner on the Whimsy blog on Monday, once the hop has ended.

But that's not all! Once you've finished the hop and entered the prize draw, hop on over to the Whimsy Stamps store where you will find some free digital stamps that have been posted in celebration of WCMD! Be quick to grab them, as they will only be available for a very short time!

Finally, we will be posting another announcement on the Whimsy blog on Monday, which could save you a few pennies, so be sure to check it out!

For my card today, I decided to make a Christmas card with one of the newest releases from Whimsy Stamps! I used the *NEW* Penguin Joy rubber stamp from the September release and paired it with some Echo Park Holly Jolly 12x12 collection papers.  I also used my Whimsy Stamps Holly and Berries die:

Okay, so now it's time for you to hop! If you’re happened upon this post by chance and would like to hop with us, hop on over to the Whimsy Stamps blog to begin the hop. If you’ve hopped here from the Whimsy blog, then you’re in the right place and your next stop is ... Kathy's blog!

Finally, here is a full hop list in hopping order:

Thanks so much for stopping by today and happy hopping!

Hugs,
